The people behind the program

Women's recovery specialists.

Many of our staff are in recovery themselves. Every member of this team chose this work because they know what it costs — and what it gives back.

  • Candice Hilton — Program Director at Renaissance Refuge

    Candice Hilton, SUDC

    Program Director

For years I struggled with addiction. In 2017 I was introduced to a new way of living. After becoming a sponsor in my community, I realized that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I started working with Renaissance Ranch in 2019 while attending school at Utah Valley University for substance use disorder counseling. In 2021 I was given the opportunity to move to Idaho, and in 2023 Renaissance Ranch opened its first women's center in Heyburn, Idaho — Renaissance Refuge. I am passionate about showing other women struggling with addiction that a new life is possible, and fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to do so. No matter what you have done, or where you have been, you can start over and have a successful recovery. Anything is possible.

  • Kim Patience — Admissions Coordinator at Renaissance Refuge

    Kim Patience

    Admissions Coordinator

Hi, my name is Kim Patience. I am in long-term recovery from drugs and alcohol. My passion is to help other women find hope, healing, and self-worth. I love my job and feel incredibly blessed to be part of such a great cause.

  • Alicia Cordova — Lead House Manager & Recovery Coach at Renaissance Refuge

    Alicia Cordova

Lead House Manager & Recovery Coach

I have been in recovery for over four years after coming to a place of complete surrender — being an addict for the better part of 19 years. Wanting something different for myself is my main motivation, not only to continue changing my life but to help others overcome the disease of addiction. I have been working towards a degree in psychology and will continue towards a SUDC after. I have successfully completed drug court, I am a mentor for IDOC, I'm involved in an addiction ministry, and have two children. I spend my spare time with my family and helping others in my community overcome the odds like I have.

  • Flor Lozano — Outpatient Manager at Renaissance Refuge

    Flor Lozano

    Outpatient Manager

I am a mother, sister, daughter, and friend. I am proud of my upbringing and my culture, and I am super big on family. Born and raised in the Mini-Cassia area, I'm a very grateful recovering addict who firsthand knows the struggles of addiction. My faith, resilience, and determination drive me every single day to be the best woman I can be. Every day I will try my best to be a woman of honor, strength, courage, and kindness. I am beyond blessed to be part of a team making a difference in our community.

  • Luke Hall — Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor at Renaissance Refuge

    Luke Hall, CADC

    Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor

I have had the honor of being a certified alcohol and drug counselor for over 5 years, and a case manager and recovery coach for years before that. Being a substance use disorder counselor, I have found immense satisfaction in being a witness to those seeking and striving for their recovery. I have had aspects of recovery — both for mental health and substance use — exist throughout my life, and have a special appreciation for the process of recovery.

  • Lauren Keogh — Clinician at Renaissance Refuge

    Lauren Keogh, LMSW

    Clinician

Working with those in recovery, I admire the strength, bravery, and determination that it takes to battle the disease of addiction. For over 10 years I have had the privilege of working in SUD treatment. Over this time I have transitioned from support staff to engaging with individuals as a Licensed Masters Social Worker, providing mental health treatment in one-on-one and group therapy contexts. I specialize in trauma processing by utilizing Accelerated Resolution Therapy. My work also integrates Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mind-Body Bridging to provide skills of emotional regulation and a cultivation of values-based recovery. I approach treatment with curiosity and respect, helping individuals understand the why behind patterns so change feels sustainable rather than forced.
